15 Days Manaslu Circuit Trekking

15 Days Manaslu Circuit Trekking offers best trek experience in Nepal. Explore rugged landscape in off-beat trekking route inside Manaslu Conservation Area.

You will en-circle Manaslu mountain and reach at altitude of 5125 meters at Larkya La Pass. Manaslu Circuit Trekking route is newly promoted and this area is protected by the Government of Nepal as restricted area with special permit required for trekking activities. This trekking route is not busy like established trekking routes such as Annapurna, Langtang and Everest. Manaslu Circuit Trekking offers excellent combination of culture, adventure with spectacular view of Mt. Manaslu and Ganesh Himal range.

Mount Manaslu is the eighth highest mountain in the world at 8,163 metres (26,781 ft) above sea level. It is located in the Mansiri Himal, part of the Nepalese Himalayas, in the west-central part of Nepal. Its name, which means “mountain of the spirit”, comes from the Sanskrit word manasa, meaning “intellect” or “soul”. Manaslu was first climbed on May 9, 1956 by Toshio Imanishi and Gyalzen Norbu, members of a Japanese expedition. It is said that “just as the British consider Everest their mountain, Manaslu has always been a Japanese mountain”.

The Manaslu Valley Trekking is more remote and spectacular than many, with rough steep tracks and less than luxurious accommodation. It is culturally fascinating with strong continuing links to Tibet in the upper Buri Gandaki (called Nupri ‘the western mountains’) and the Tsum Valley, and even has the Larkya La (5160m) as a challenge. The views of Mt Manaslu, eighth highest mountain in the world, are marvellous and close.

The trek around Manaslu can be done as a lodge trek while even Tsum now has several lodges, good homestays and toilets in most places. There are now phones throughout (although not mobile reception) in case of an emergency.

The low land of circuit is dotted with hill settlements comprising Hindu followers. As the trek goes to the rugged terrain the landscape completely changes so is the settlements mostly influenced by the Tibetan culture. The highest point you reach while commencing this trek is the Larkya La Pass (5125) offering panoramic view of the Manaslu panorama. This trekking route bypass Budi Gandaki and Marysangdi valley covering few areas inside Annapurna Conservation Area.

15 Days Manaslu Circuit Trekking starts from Arughat in Gorkha and follows settlements like Sotikhola, Machha Khola, Samdo Jagat, and final destination being Besisahar. You can either drive back to Kathmandu or spend couple of days at Pokhara to relax your muscle at the end of the trek.

If have longer time then you can combine Manaslu trek with Tsum valley or around Annapurna as per your interest. Let us know if you wish to customize the trek.
