Best Visiting place around Kathmandu

Kathmandu Durbar Squire

Kathmandu Durbar Square is also known as Kantipur, the capital of the Kingdom of Nepal. Here you will visit the Living Goddess temple, which receives the faithful's greetings from her temple seat's balcony. The Kashtamandap, from which Kathmandu takes its name and has been made from the wood of a single tree, and Durbar Square with its cluster of temples are overlooked by the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, the former seat of Nepalese royalty.

Swayambhunath Stupa

This Buddhist stupa, located about 4 km away, is 2000 years old. The stupa, which is the main structure, consists of a solid hemisphere made of bricks and clay supporting a tall conical spire crowned by a gilded copper pinnacle. At the base of the four-sided spire are painted the eyes of the all-seeing Lord Buddha. This hill is a mosaic of small chaityas and pagoda temples.

Pashupatinath Temple (Hindu Temple)

Pashupatinath Temple is located 5 km east of Kathmandu city and is one of the holiest temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Set amidst lush natural surroundings on the sacred Bagmati River banks, the pagoda-style temple has a gilded roof and richly carved silver doors. Visitors are allowed to view the temple from the Bagmati River's eastern bank, as entry to the temple is strictly prohibited for non-Hindus. Pashupatinath is the centre of the annual pilgrimage on the day of Shivaratri, which falls in February/March.

Bodhnath Stupa (Buddhist Stupa)

This stupa, located 8 km. east of Kathmandu, is one of the largest of its kind in the world. It has four pairs of eyes in four cardinal directions that watch over correct behaviour and human welfare. King Man Deva built this Buddhist stupa on the advice of Goddess Mani Jogini and made it on an octagonal base with prayer wheels. Houses of lamas or Buddhist priests surround the shrine.

Patan and Bhaktpur Durbar Squire

5 km/3 miles from Kathmandu city. Patan, also known as Lalitpur, is the city of fine arts, enclosed in 4 stupas said to have been built in the 3rd century AD by Emperor Ashoka. You will see Durbar Square, Krishna Temple built by King Siddhi Narsingh Malla, Hiranya Varna Mabavihar and Mahadouddha Temple and then visit the Royal Palace Bhaktapur.

Nagarkot

After visiting these places, we will drive to Nagarkot for a beautiful sunset view. Nagarkot is one of the most picturesque spots, located about 35 km east of Kathmandu. FAQs

The hilltop town of Nagarkot is a popular destination for short trips from Kathmandu, as it is only 30 kilometres from the city centre. The private transfer is the fastest and easiest way, a 1.5-hour drive from Kathmandu Valley through the Himalayas' foothills.

Sarangkot is better, but it depends on your time limit. If you have less time and want to see Everest (when the weather is fantastic), Nagarkot is better. For proximity to the mountains and scenery, we recommend Sarangkot.

The easiest and cheapest way to get here from Kathmandu is by bus from the "Bhaktapur Bus Terminal", located east of Ratna Park, to Bhaktapur Bhadgaon on to Nagarkot but buses are very crowded).

Located at an altitude of 2,195 meters, it is considered one of the most scenic places in the Bhaktapur district. It is famous for the Himalayas sunrise view, including Mount Everest in long distabce and other peaks of the Himalayan range in eastern Nepal. From Nagarkot, you can see a panoramic view of Kathmandu Valley.

Nagarkot is famous for its Himalayan views: the Himalayan peaks at sunrise and sunset are magnificent. Nagarkot is 2,195 meters above sea level and is the second-highest hill in the Kathmandu Valley.

A fantastic experience exceeding expectations

It was a great experience when our group had a vacation at the end of September 2019. Walking around Kathmandu, especially Thamel Street and Dur Bar Square, was an enriching experience to see the local daily routine. The street is full of local stores selling vegetables, fruits, dry foods, cotton fabrics and more. The company took good care of us on each trip; one of my favourites was the trek from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel. Although we were in the dry season, the view from the top of the hill did not disappoint us.

Exceptional, outstanding and beyond all expectations!!

We made our first visit to Nepal in March 2018. We were very well taken care of by Kishor, General Manager of the company and his staff.

The trip was a great success and allowed us to learn about the culture, customs, and way of life of the people and enjoy spectacular views of the mountains up close. He gave us extensive information about the terrain, the buildings and the people we saw. We can wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking tour in Nepal.

Best company, the best tour and best people

If you are reading this review as part of your planning for sightseeing and trekking in Nepal, you will not regret contacting Kishor. He knows how to make sure you are comfortable and go out of their way to make you feel welcome, memorable and most of all, safe in their care. Most importantly, they tailor the tour as per your interests, Budget and abilities. If something was too demanding on the day, don't worry, they would take another route. The personal attention, always having a staff member at your elbow, was reassuring in this foreign but wonderful country. Just do it and be done. Book with them.
