Nepal Tour with short Trek is a short
trip to explore Nepal in its entirety, from the countryside to the city and
from the city to the Himalayas, passing all the nooks and crannies that
traveler wants to explore. It is a unique program developed by Nepal Tour and
Trekking Service P. Ltd for travelers who prefer to trek and tour in one
package.
This itinerary will be handy for all
travelers who want to visit Nepal's rural and urban settlements. Nepal is a
culturally diverse country with different ethnic territories. It will also help
the researchers observe Nepal's rural life and the gigantic Himalayas.
As the itinerary for ten days will
visit the city life and observe the fusion of religion and culture of city
dwellers versus village life. Visit the historical monuments of the capital and
monitor near the Kathmandu Valley. The program deviates towards the Pokhara,
where you can see the difference between the two cities.
Finally, you will take a short trek in
the Annapurna conservation area to see nature at its best. It will go through
the village, through the hills, rivers, forests, various suspension bridges,
and finally to Ghorepani and Poon Hill to see the beautiful sunrise and many
mountain ranges, including Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhere, and many more
mountains. From Poon Hill, you can see Nepal's gigantic Himalayas, which are
over 8000 meters high. The mountain range of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri,
Machhapuchre (Fishtail), and many more will attract every trekker with its
beauty.
The trip is not only focused on the
Himalayas, as the itinerary is more research-based. Here you will see the
detail of rural and urban life, how people lived in the mountains without roads
and other facilities. Their daily activities and hospitality towards travelers
will fascinate you a lot.
Upon arrival at the International Airport, our representative will meet, greet and transfer you to your respective hotel. After checking in at the hotel, our staff will provide a short briefing about the program.
After Check-in at the hotel and getting fresh up, you can explore the famous tourist area of Kathmandu, namely Thamel and Kathmandu Durbar Square. In the evening, we will offer Nepalese cuisine in an authentic Nepalese restaurant with a cultural program. Overnight stay in our respective hotel.
Meals: Dinner
After breakfast, depart for a city tour. Kathmandu is a city of temples. The tour will take you to the UNESCO World Heritage sites as following.
Pashupatinath temple is a world-renowned Hindu sanctuary and one of the most important pilgrimage destinations globally, located along the sacred Bagmati River. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. You can see the body is cremated in the cremation process, an essential part of Hindu culture.
Buddhist temples and stupas are the most visited monumental sites. Boudhanath stupa, about 5 km east of Thamel, Kathmandu Durbar Square, located in the heart of Kathmandu, preserves medieval stone and wood crafts of the Newari and the abode of the virgin goddess Kumari and Swayambhunath Stupa is some of them. The medieval arts and architectures are unique. Return to the hotel and have a rest. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Meals: Breakfast
After having a delicious breakfast at your hotel, our tour guide will drive you to Patan and Bhaktapur to visit the ancient palace. Compared to Kathmandu, it is quieter, less frenetic, and more Buddhist. Patan is called the city of arts for its incredible wood carvings. But the people of Patan call it Lalitpur, a city of beauty. Patan is listed in a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has its royal palace with gilded doors and windows. Patan Durbar Square is not a very large area, but it is a concentrated mass of temples. It is all arranged regularly, so it doesn't feel crowded. It displays the most impressive Newari architecture seen in Nepal.
Bhaktapur, the city of devotees, has many names and even more facets. Formerly also known as Bhadgaon, Khwopa, and Khwopinggram, this ancient Newar city is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This city, once an independent kingdom, has a fantastic Durbar Square with its 55-windowed palace. Numerous temples surround the square with exquisite stone carvings of animals and idols. From there, there is the option to travel around the city to other religious sites with temples. Most likely, your final destination will be the impressive Nyatpole temple square.
Bhaktapur is famous for its pottery. The city still retains a medieval atmosphere with its winding houses, cobblestone streets, narrow alleys, and traditional squares. The countryside begins just outside the city walls. During harvest time, the entire potter's square is full of rice
In April 2015, Nepal was rocked by a massive earthquake. The damage to the Durbar squares in the valley was dramatic. Some temples were destroyed, others damaged. However, most of the treasures are being restored to their former glory. In the case of some temples, restoration work will take several years.
After visiting Bhaktapur, you will go to Nagarkot for the sunset, a hill station, but rather a village, located at an altitude of 2100 meters above sea level. From the top of Nagarkot, you can see the vast snow-capped Himalayan ranges. Overnight stay in our respective hotel.
Meals: Breakfast
Early morning, you see the beautiful sunrise then you will have breakfast. After breakfast, we will drive you to Pokhara. It will be one of the exciting 7 hours drives. Your journey will be full of thrills passing zigzag roads with beautiful views of the Himalayas, hills, rivers, forests, and the countryside, then you will get to one of the most beautiful cities, Pokhara.
Often our vehicle stops for tea/coffee/lunch etc. so that you can also feast on the sights of the small town. Upon arrival in Pokhara, you will check in to our respective hotels. After fresh up, you will visit some of the historical sites of Pokhara, a boat ride on Lake Fewa, and hanging out by the lake with a bottle of beer will be fabulous. Overnight stay at our hotel.
Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast, drive you to Nayapul with a short drive passing through beautiful villages, farmlands, and rivers to our trekking starting point. The Trek starts with a descent to Birethati, a small town and market area for the locals; then, you pass through the jungle and beautiful villages.
Finally, you reach Hile, a local Gurung village and ethnic group in Nepal. It is a beautiful village with local life; we can see the beautiful farmland, mountains, and river. It will be our place for lunch.
After a short rest, you walk up through the forest until you reach Tikhedhunga, a small village between the forest and the hill, to spend the night in a tea house.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Early morning after breakfast, you will start your Trek towards Ghorepani; this will be an exciting trek as you cross the suspension bridge and waterfall, then it is 3300 steps that greet you to Ulleri. You will travel through the dense rhododendron forest and have a beautiful view of the Annapurna mountain range with its natural beauty and wildlife.
It will be a game of hiding and seek with the Himalayas, and in the dense forests, you can see wild animals such as deer, monkeys, various species of birds, leopards, and many more.
Afternoon in Ghorepani, a fantastic village with beautiful accommodations and a view of the mighty Himalayas from Annapurna to Dhaulagiri and the distant Kaligandaki river valley and gorge can explore the surroundings and enjoy its beauty and local hospitality. Overnight stay in our tea house.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Today is the most ordinary day for you. You will wake up to hike towards Poonhill to enjoy the magnificent view of the gigantic Himalayas and the sunrise. It is better to have a headlamp.
As the sun's first rays fall on the Himalayan, there is more to see, and all our fatigue from trekking settles like medicine. It will be a lifetime experience to see such beauty and the Himalayas from Annapurna to the Dhaulagiri range in front of you.
While descending to your tea house, you may encounter Nepal's national birds, i.e., Lophophorus and other natural birds.
After breakfast, descend to Tikhedhunga and Hile. Today's descent will be the same way as yesterday, but you will find it easy to descend through the nature of the forest and the village until you reach Tikhedhunga and shortly will take you to Hele from where you will take a public jeep to Nayapul.
From Nayapul you will take a private car to Pokhara. Upon arrival in Pokhara, you check in to your hotel, and after refreshments, you spend your free time visiting some local areas. Overnight stay at our hotel.
Meals: Breakfast and Lunch
Today we will drive you to your next destination, Chitwan, with a scenic drive of about 4-5 hours along the winding roads on the banks of the Trishuli River. On the way, you will enjoy the scenery of Nepalese settlements, green hills, dense forests, and enchanting landscapes. Upon arrival, you will check in to the hotel for rest and refreshment. In the afternoon, walk along the banks of the Rapti River and watch the sunset view. Later, enjoy the Tharu cultural dance and learn more about their daily lifestyle, culture, and traditions that can become unique. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Today is the second attractive day of this trip where you can do some exciting activities and explore the jungle in Chitwan National. You will start with an elephant safari through the dense jungle and observe wildlife in their natural habitat. You will see one-horned rhinos, sambar deer, wild pheasants, Bengal tigers, colorful birds, and many other animals. Then head to the riverbank for canoeing, a must-do activity in Chitwan. Get up close and personal with the two rare species of crocodiles, Marsh Mugger and Gharial, and the water birds. Visit the elephant stables and enjoy an elephant bath. Then head deep into the jungle for bird watching and then get ready for a jeep safari to spot as many wild animals as you can. Overnight at the lodge.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
After breakfast, we will drive you to Kathmandu by car or fly back to Kathmandu.
Although the trip seems more extended, it is full of natural beauty all along the way; you will be amazed by the diverse vegetation and nature's resources: beautiful mountains, Himalayas, rivers, waterfalls, villages, terraced cultures, and much more.
In the afternoon, you reach Kathmandu and check in to your respective hotel. After checking in and freshening up, you can enjoy your free time by visiting a nearby area according to your interest.
Meals: Breakfast
Today, it is your final day in Nepal; one of our office representatives will escort you to the International Airport to transfer you to your hotel, depending on your flight schedule. If you have more free days in Nepal, then our expert team will help you by showing you some beautiful places in Nepal that you can visit according to your available schedule.

Travel insurance
Travel insurance is vital for all
guests wishing to travel with us. Travel insurance should cover both medical
and emergency evacuation expenses. We recommend that your insurance be worth at
least $100,000. If you do not have insurance while trekking in Nepal, not only
will your life be in real danger, but it will end up costing you your health
and your bank account.
Travel insurance policies should cover
trip cancellation, medical insurance, flight accident, baggage loss during the
trip. Some travel insurance cover damage to personal property and rented
equipment, but some travel insurance policies also cover a ransom payment cost.
Yes, it is allowed to take photos of the sights. However, permission is required to take pictures in certain areas, and you can ask your tour guide for it. Please ask people for permission before taking photographs of them.
The main tour focuses on the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur's ancient cities.
If you want to add additional activities and places to your itinerary, you can do so. Our Tour Manager will help you customize your trip. Just tell us what areas you want to visit and what you want to do, and we will add them to your itinerary.
Usually, we provide private and comfortable vehicles for individual tourists. For groups, we provide comfortable luxury buses.
Although tipping is not mandatory, it is a great way to show your appreciation to the people who helped you enrich your vacation experience. It all depends on how satisfied and happy you are with the services. There is no set amount, but many of our clients give a tip of 10% of the trip's total price.
No, you cannot purchase travel insurance in Nepal.
We strongly recommend that all of our clients arrange travel insurance before booking any of our trips. If you get illness or injury during trekking in the mountains, the cost of emergency treatment and evacuation is high. Therefore, purchasing travel insurance is highly recommended for anyone signing up for one of our trips. However, you should care when selecting a policy, as some insurance companies make exceptions for adventure travel.
Before purchasing insurance, read the fine print and make sure your insurance company knows your itinerary and agrees to cover all activities during your trip. For example, if you plan a trekking or climbing (mountaineering) expedition in the Himalayas, your insurance should cover emergency air/helicopter rescue, including medical expenses. For a group trip in an urban area, air/helicopter rescue coverage is mandatory. When you book a trip with us, you must send us a copy of your insurance policy (e.g., your insurance certificate) or bring it with you when you travel.
Most of our guides speak English, which is a common means of communication. Besides, they are trained, experienced and know the areas very well.

We made a 12 day trip to Nepal with
Nepal Tour and trekking service P. Ltd including Kathmandu, Pokhara, Ghorepani
Poon Hill Trek, and Chitwan. I can't say enough about our experience. Our first-time
Trek in Nepal with Mr. Kishor, Tour Manager, took outstanding care of us
throughout the trip. Even before we left our country, they were super
responsive to our questions.
They were professional, made sure we
knew the information we needed and organized everything so our stay was stress-free.
For the low price of the tour, the hotels we used were fine, and, not knowing
what to expect, Chitwan was an unexpected delight.
Throughout the hike, it was tough, and
we had all kinds of weather, but our guide Shiva and his team took care of us
and allowed our group of ten to each hike at their fitness level. The porters
were great and took care of our large backpacks, and even after hiking all day
had smiles and energy to enjoy the evenings.
My wife is not very physical, either,
so this hike was a little test. She loved the experience, and now we are
thinking about doing Everest Base Camp or something similar; if we do, it will
be with Kishor and his professional team.
by Mikael Jönsson, Sweden
In January 2017, we did a 10-day
family tour of Nepal with Nepal Tour and Trekking Service P. Ltd. We visited
Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, and Poonhill.
Everything was perfect. Perfect
organization, cheap but comfortable hotels, good care, competent guides, and
all this at a relatively modest price. The company's organizers - the young men,
who have gone the way from the simple carriers to the masters of the
flourishing tourist enterprise, were delightful to us. They understand very
well what is necessary for the tourist and they offer it. I hope that you will
help organize another trip to Nepal.

My friend and I recently booked a
10-day Nepal trip with short hiking. I cannot speak highly enough of this
company. Kishor, who briefed us on arrival, took us out to dinner at the end of
our trip and made sure we all have a comfortable journey.
Rupesh, our fantastic tour guide who
spoke excellent English, had a great sense of humor while remaining
professional at all times and took care of us throughout the trip, and our
driver, who drove us safely through the crazy traffic to Pokhara, Chitwan, and
around Kathmandu.
Overall a great experience. Incredible,
unforgettable tour, thanks to all involved.
by Mario Schwab, Germany
Wonderful tour in Nepal
A fantastic tour through many parts of
beautiful Nepal. Everything was wonderfully organized and facilitated. Our
hotels were great, our driver was excellent and had an almost new car, and we
all had confidence in his ability to navigate the roads and with other drivers.
Above all, we all agreed that our guide, Shusma, was fantastic.
Shusma managed to keep us on schedule
without pressuring us and let us stop when we needed to. Her knowledge of the
places, geography, people, and even the botanical information was incredible;
even stopping to point out local wildflowers, their names, their use in herbal
medicine, and local culture was excellent.
Your calm demeanor and willingness to
make sure everyone is well and happy, along with your motto of "good
people, with good thoughts," was inspiring. Congratulations, Shusma, and
keep up the excellent work. You are a real asset to the trip company. As one of
the other trip participants said, "You were our best tour guide."
by Sophie Dostie, France
We were a group of seven on a
volunteering trip to Kathmandu for few days. Kishor and his team personally
welcomed us and took care of all our needs from airport transfers, hotel
booking, meeting arrangements, translation, etc. We highly recommend Nepal Tour
and Trekking Service P. Ltd. Kishor and his team are very professional,
friendly, helpful, and go out of their way to make your trip memorable.
by Holly Corbett, Australia
It was the trip of a lifetime!
Everything was exceptionally well organized and taken care of. Mr. Kishor was beneficial
before the trip while I was in Kathmandu and made sure we had the best
experience possible. Bishnu and Naresh are highly knowledgeable and excellent
local guides to create an environment where all the guests treated our porters
as part of the trekking family, which was not the norm with other trekking
groups. It helped to create a solid team for the Trek.
